As a former US Department of Housing and Urban Development employee, Knight brings technical experience and competence in both housing redevelopment and community revitalization.  She is a certified mixed-finance professional.  A graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Public Administration program and a highly awarded disaster recovery and rebuild professional, Knight has worked as BGC developer/consultant to secure over $600 million in financing sources in the past 4 years for public housing authorities converting through RAD.  These projects are in rural and urban areas across the south and southwest. These projects consist of both 9% and 4% tax credit projects as well as projects that needed to leverage debt only as part of their revitalization efforts. As a HUD Sustainability Subject Matter Expert, she has assisted numerous developments with redesign and financing.  Her experience with design, build and sustainable technologies assisted with her redevelopment of over 3,500 units of affordable housing in the Gulf Coast after Katrina and makes her an asset when working with HACT projects.

Phillips has over 30 years of affordable housing experience and 40 years of executive business management experience. Phillips will represent BGC Advantage for all business matters and negotiate any third-party reports required during the pre-development process. She is a certified tax credit management professional, compliance specialist, civil rights and fair housing specialist, and is a certified HR management professional. Phillips is experienced in compliance and reporting and will assist in document review and ensuring timely submissions to appropriate agencies.

Wilson has over 20 years of finance, credit underwriting, and affordable housing experience. Her depth of knowledge as an underwriter and providing cost certification will provide invaluable assistance in completing and submitting low-income housing tax credit applications. Wilson has performed a variety of advanced financial analyses to determine present and forecasted financial health of the projects and entities. Her financial and tax credit consulting experience brings a holistic approach to the team. She has submitted assisted in submitting and consulted on over 6000 units of affordable housing and low-income housing tax credits. She is a certified tax credit professional and has a HCCP Certified HOME and Fair Housing Certification.

Wagner provides assistance with closing coordinator duties. These duties include correspondence with lenders to provide information to move from underwriting to closing and compile closing due diligence items for lenders. She also monitors milestone checklists and projects dates throughout closing, construction, lease up and stabilization.

Croxton brings experience to the team from City government. Her knowledge of planning and zoning and compliance with federal programs will provide excellent resources for submitting LIHTC applications. She is familiar with maintaining building standards and compliance with project reporting.

Pipes has a vast array of knowledge that leverages low-income housing management company experience as well as her experience as a computer company associate. She is a process-oriented person with a demonstrated successful track record of completing projects under stringent time constraints.

Lewis has experience clerking with a top law firm to enhance services during contract and project stages. She is an expert researcher and analyst. She will also assist with transactional documents as she has a great deal of experience with legal and contract writing and requirements. She also uses her experience working with Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality to assist with initial environmental process determination. Her knowledge of federal and state contracting requirements assists clients and projects with meeting appropriate goals and outreach.

Before forming BGC Advantage, Knight worked with BGC (Formerly Bennett Group Consulting), where she remains a Principal with current projects underway.   Knight and Van Dyke will continue to actively collaborate and blend their extensive expertise in the development and preservation of affordable housing for the benefit of their clients, investors, and partners until the conclusion of all existing projects.

Judith Van Dyke is an attorney who has specialized in affordable housing community development and related issues for 17 years with extensive knowledge in state, private and federally funded programs. She has represented both for-profit and non-profit developers of affordable housing.  She specializes in real estate matters; construction and permanent loan closing; organization, operating and partnership agreements; applying for and using Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Home funds, credit enhanced bonds, CDBG Funds and FHLB AHP Grants.

Jennifer Lynch

Development Coordinator

Jennifer’s role at BGC consists of managing all phases of the LIHTC development process, from the initial application to closing to construction completion.

She has been working in the LIHTC industry for seven years and has been involved with the development of more than 500 units. She draws on her background in affordable housing to effectively provide leadership in business development, land acquisition, financial modeling and analysis.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science from Kennesaw State University in 2007. She received her Masters of Business Administration from Columbus State University in 2012.

Kim Golden

Development Coordinator

As Development Coordinator, Kim Golden is responsible for getting projects from step one to completion, from initial application to final closing. Her expertise is in Alabama LIHTC and RAD developments.

Her leadership in tracking multiple closing requirements, HUD deadlines, and meeting RAD milestones keeps our projects on time and within budget. She ensures that projects meet due diligence requirements established by HUD, lenders, grant funding, and equity providers. She has been the lead on a number of RAD transactions and has successfully obtained funding for multiple Alabama 4% and 9% LIHTC developments. She holds a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) certification from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Avery Werner

Development Coordinator

Avery Werner was promoted to Development Coordinator in May of 2016 and since then has played an active role in assisting our clients convert through HUD’s RAD program and obtain funding via LIHTC applications. She has previously submitted successful LIHTC applications in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas, and is now shifting her focus to LIHTC applications in Alabama and Georgia. Her additional skills in ArcGIS, data analysis, environmental policy and sustainability make her a valuable asset to the BGC Team. Avery graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Geography in 2010.
